Thanksgiving Travel In New York City

It’s that time of year where over 50 million people travel different parts of the world to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast connecting with friends and family.  Over 3 million are expected to be in New York for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

A quick bit of trivia. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November. It originated as a harvest festival. In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared a Fall harvest feast.  Today this is known as one of the first Thanksgiving. Nearing 400 years later we still give special Thanks on this day.

One of the most celebrated Thanksgiving travel destination is New York City for the Macy’s Day Parade. Check out our New York link to see a few Manhattan properties to rent for the this Holiday or any visit to the Big Apple.

The Parade's 92nd year does not disappoint! With balloons of Charlie Brown, Paw Patrol, Dr. Seuss, Goku, Little Cloud and many others.

John Legend, Alley Brooke, Carly Pearce, Kane Brown, Ella Mai, Diana Ross & Martina Mcbride will be a few of the entertainers this year. Of course, we always look forward to the marching bands, performers, clowns and floats as well.

Where to watch the parade? Obviously everyone has their own opinion. But the consensus seems to be Central Park West between 59th and 75th, Columbus Circle and Central Park South at Sixth Avenue. So, get there early to enjoy the festivities (watch them inflate the balloons, a treat in itself). The parade starts at 9am-12pm.

Of course, let’s not forget all of what New York City offers while visiting. Enjoy Manhattan’s cultural scene and holiday spirit. From every imaginable eatery to Black Friday shopping to the 911 Memorial Museum, the views from Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Central Park, Broadway shows and so much more!

Where ever your travels may take you, Connecting Rentals Worldwide wishes you, your family and friends a Happy Thanksgiving.
